Look! The Lord is coming from his dwelling place; he comes down and treads on the heights of the earth.

The Lord is about to come down from his home in heaven. He rules over even the highest places on earth.

For behold, the Lord is coming out of his place, and will come down and tread upon the high places of the earth.

Look, the LORD is leaving his place and coming down to trample the heights of the earth.

For the Lord is the one who shaped the mountains, stirs up the winds, and reveals his thoughts to mankind. He turns the light of dawn into darkness and treads on the heights of the earth. The Lord God of Heaven’s Armies is his name!

Look! The Lord is coming from heaven to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will no longer hide those who have been killed. They will be brought out for all to see.

He let them ride over the highlands and feast on the crops of the fields. He nourished them with honey from the rock and olive oil from the stony ground.

Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes.

For the Lord’s hand of blessing will rest on Jerusalem. But Moab will be crushed. It will be like straw trampled down and left to rot.

Oh, that you would burst from the heavens and come down! How the mountains would quake in your presence!As fire causes wood to burn and water to boil, your coming would make the nations tremble. Then your enemies would learn the reason for your fame!

How blessed you are, O Israel! Who else is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your protecting shield and your triumphant sword! Your enemies will cringe before you, and you will stomp on their backs!”

Crawl into caves in the rocks. Hide in the dust from the terror of the Lord and the glory of his majesty.Human pride will be brought down, and human arrogance will be humbled. Only the Lord will be exalted on that day of judgment.For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has a day of reckoning. He will punish the proud and mighty and bring down everything that is exalted.He will cut down the tall cedars of Lebanon and all the mighty oaks of Bashan.He will level all the high mountains and all the lofty hills.He will break down every high tower and every fortified wall.He will destroy all the great trading ships and every magnificent vessel.Human pride will be humbled, and human arrogance will be brought down. Only the Lord will be exalted on that day of judgment.Idols will completely disappear.When the Lord rises to shake the earth, his enemies will crawl into holes in the ground. They will hide in caves in the rocks from the terror of the Lord and the glory of his majesty.

“ I have been treading the winepress alone; no one was there to help me. In my anger I have trampled my enemies as if they were grapes. In my fury I have trampled my foes. Their blood has stained my clothes.For the time has come for me to avenge my people, to ransom them from their oppressors.

Humiliate the proud with a glance; walk on the wicked where they stand.
