Then they will fast in those days.”He also told a parable to them.“ No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old.No one puts new wine into old wine skins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.But new wine must be put into fresh wine skins, and both are preserved.

As he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax office, and he said to him,“ Follow me.” And he arose and followed him.He was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him.The scribes and the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples,“ Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”When Jesus heard it, he said to them,“ Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him,“ Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.When they saw it, they all murmured, saying,“ He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord,“ Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”Jesus said to him,“ Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.He said to them,“ Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”They immediately left their nets and followed him.Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.

When they had come in, they went up into the upper room where they were staying; that is Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth. Elijah went over to him, and put his mantle on him.Elisha left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said,“ Let me please kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” He said to him,“ Go back again; for what have I done to you?”He returned from following him, and took the yoke of oxen, and killed them, and boiled their meat with the instruments of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they ate. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and served him.

Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming close to him to hear him.The Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying,“ This man welcomes sinners, and eats with them.”

to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I didn’t immediately confer with flesh and blood,

Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to him,“ The first.” Jesus said to them,“ Most certainly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into God’s Kingdom before you.For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn’t even repent afterward, that you might believe him.
