耶穌走遍加利利，在各會堂裏教導人，宣講天國的福音，醫治百姓各樣的疾病。他的名聲傳遍了敘利亞。那裏的人把一切病人，就是有各樣疾病和疼痛的、被鬼附的、癲癇的、癱瘓的，都帶了來，耶穌就治好了他們。

但耶穌對他們說：「我也必須在別的城傳上帝國的福音，因我奉差原是為此。」於是耶穌在猶太的各會堂傳道。

傍晚日落的時候，有人帶着一切害病的和被鬼附的，來到耶穌跟前。全城的人都聚集在門前。耶穌治好了許多害各樣病的人，又趕出許多鬼，不許鬼說話，因為鬼認識他。次日早晨，天未亮的時候，耶穌起來，到曠野地方去，在那裏禱告。西門和同伴出去找他，找到了就對他說：「眾人都在找你！」耶穌對他們說：「讓我們往別處去，到鄰近的鄉村，我也好在那裏傳道，因為我是為這事出來的。」於是他走遍全加利利，在他們的會堂傳道，並且趕鬼。

耶穌所到的地方，或村中、或城裏、或鄉間，他們都把病人放在街市上，求耶穌讓他們摸一摸他的衣裳繸子，摸着的人就都好了。
