So he called out,“ Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”And those who were in front scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted even more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

They came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to shout,“ Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”Many scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!”

While the Pharisees were assembled, Jesus asked them a question:“ What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said,“ The son of David.”He said to them,“ How then does David by the Spirit call him‘ Lord,’ saying,‘ The Lord said to my lord,“ Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet”’?If David then calls him‘ Lord,’ how can he be his son?”

The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting,“ Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

This is the record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Don’t the scriptures say that the Christ is a descendant of David and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?”

At that very time Jesus cured many people of diseases, sicknesses, and evil spirits, and granted sight to many who were blind.

Then they came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to Jesus and asked him to touch him.He took the blind man by the hand and brought him outside of the village. Then he spit on his eyes, placed his hands on his eyes and asked,“ Do you see anything?”

It has often thrown him into fire or water to destroy him. But if you are able to do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he said,“ How is it that the experts in the law say that the Christ is David’s son?David himself, by the Holy Spirit, said,‘ The Lord said to my lord,“ Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.”’If David himself calls him‘ Lord,’ how can he be his son?” And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.

Then they brought to him a demon- possessed man who was blind and mute. Jesus healed him so that he could speak and see.All the crowds were amazed and said,“ Could this one be the Son of David?”

But when the chief priests and the experts in the law saw the wonderful things he did and heard the children crying out in the temple courts,“ Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became indignant

But he said to them,“ How is it that they say that the Christ is David’s son?

raised their voices and said,“ Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”

To them belong the patriarchs, and from them, by human descent, came the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever! Amen.

Now as Jesus was passing by, he saw a man who had been blind from birth.His disciples asked him,“ Rabbi, who committed the sin that caused him to be born blind, this man or his parents?”Jesus answered,“ Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but he was born blind so that the acts of God may be revealed through what happens to him.We must perform the deeds of the one who sent me as long as it is daytime. Night is coming when no one can work.As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”Having said this, he spat on the ground and made some mud with the saliva. He smeared the mud on the blind man’s eyesand said to him,“ Go wash in the pool of Siloam”( which is translated“ sent”). So the blind man went away and washed, and came back seeing.Then the neighbors and the people who had seen him previously as a beggar began saying,“ Is this not the man who used to sit and beg?”Some people said,“ This is the man!” while others said,“ No, but he looks like him.” The man himself kept insisting,“ I am the one!”So they asked him,“ How then were you made to see?”He replied,“ The man called Jesus made mud, smeared it on my eyes and told me,‘ Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and was able to see.”They said to him,“ Where is that man?” He replied,“ I don’t know.”
