Yet he went out and began to proclaim it widely and to spread the news, with the result that Jesus could no longer enter a town openly. But He was out in deserted places, and they would come to Him from everywhere.

King Herod heard of this, because Jesus’ name had become well known. Some said,“ John the Baptist has been raised from the dead, and that’s why supernatural powers are at work in him.”

For the king knows about these matters. It is to him I am actually speaking boldly. For I am convinced that none of these things escapes his notice, since this was not done in a corner.

At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the report about Jesus.“ This is John the Baptist!” he told his servants.“ He has been raised from the dead, and that’s why supernatural powers are at work in him.”
