法利赛人看见，就对耶稣的门徒说：“你们的老师为什么与税吏和罪人一同吃饭呢？”

法利塞人見之、謂其徒曰：『爾師奚為與稅吏罪人同食？』

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples,“ Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

法利赛人和文士就向耶稣的门徒发怨言说：“你们为什么跟税吏和罪人一同吃喝呢？”

法利赛人中的文士看见耶稣与罪人和税吏一同吃饭，就对他的门徒说：“他与税吏和罪人一同吃饭吗？”

许多税吏和罪人都挨近耶稣，要听他讲道。法利赛人和文士私下议论说：“这个人接纳罪人，又同他们吃饭。”

我先前写信告诉过你们，不可与淫乱的人交往。此话不是泛指这世上所有行淫乱的，或贪婪的，勒索的，或拜偶像的；若是这样，你们非离开这世界不可。但现在，我写信告诉你们，若有称为弟兄的人却仍犯淫乱，或贪婪，或拜偶像，或辱骂，或醉酒，或勒索，这样的人不可跟他交往，就是跟他吃饭都不可以。

我们生来就是犹太人，不是外邦罪人；

他能体谅无知和迷失的人，因为他自己也是被软弱所困，

众人看见，都私下议论说：“他竟然到罪人家里去住宿。”

且对人说：‘你站开吧！不要挨近我，因为我对你来说太神圣了。’这些人惹我鼻中冒烟，如终日燃烧的火。

他们到了门徒那里，看见有一大群人围着他们，又有文士和他们辩论。众人一见耶稣，都很惊奇，就跑上去向他问安。耶稣问他们：“你们和他们辩论什么？”
