事實上，我也在人的權下，也有士兵在我之下。我對這個說『去』，他就去；對那個說『來』，他就來；對我的奴僕說『做這事』，他就去做。」

蓋我隸人權、有士卒隸我權、令此往則往、來則來、令僕行是則行是、

蓋我權屬人、兵權屬我、命去則去、命來則來、令僕行是、即行是、

蓋我屬人轄、亦有兵屬我轄、命此去則去、命彼來則來、令我僕行是則行是、

蓋予屬人權下、己亦帶有兵卒；命此去則去、召彼來則來、所諭於僕、罔有不從。』

For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one,‘ Go,’ and he goes; and that one,‘ Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant,‘ Do this,’ and he does it.”

I myself am a man under authority. And I have soldiers who obey my orders. I tell this one,‘ Go,’ and he goes. I tell that one,‘ Come,’ and he comes. I say to my slave,‘ Do this,’ and he does it.”

I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say,‘ Go,’ and they go, or‘ Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves,‘ Do this,’ they do it.”

Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.

Bondservants are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,

“ Or if I bring a sword upon that land and say, Let a sword pass through the land, and I cut off from it man and beast,though these three men were in it, as I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they alone would be delivered.“ Or if I send a pestilence into that land and pour out my wrath upon it with blood, to cut off from it man and beast,even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither son nor daughter. They would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness.“ For thus says the Lord God: How much more when I send upon Jerusalem my four disastrous acts of judgment, sword, famine, wild beasts, and pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast!

And he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her, and immediately she rose and began to serve them.

And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea,“ Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.He said to them,“ Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”And they were filled with great fear and said to one another,“ Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word!

“ Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, that a flood of waters may cover you?Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go and say to you,‘ Here we are’?

Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ,not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,

For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea.They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight;they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end.Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.

For I too am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me: and I say to one,‘ Go,’ and he goes; and to another,‘ Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant,‘ Do this,’ and he does it.”

But Jesus rebuked him, saying,“ Be silent and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.And they were all amazed and said to one another,“ What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants.

Ah, sword of the Lord! How long till you are quiet? Put yourself into your scabbard; rest and be still!How can it be quiet when the Lord has given it a charge? Against Ashkelon and against the seashore he has appointed it.”
