She asked Elijah,“ Why, prophet, have you come to me to confront me with my sin and kill my son?”

Then all the people of the Gerasenes and the surrounding region asked Jesus to leave them alone, for they were seized with great fear. So he got into the boat and left.The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,“ Return to your home, and declare what God has done for you.” So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole town what Jesus had done for him.

They were saying to God,‘ Turn away from us,’ and‘ What can the Almighty do to us?’

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before him, and shouted with a loud voice,“ Leave me alone, Jesus, Son of the Most High God! I beg you, do not torment me!”

Samuel did what the LORD told him. When he arrived in Bethlehem, the elders of the city were afraid to meet him. They said,“ Do you come in peace?”

They cried out,“ Son of God, leave us alone! Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

Then they asked Jesus to leave their region.As he was getting into the boat the man who had been demon- possessed asked if he could go with him.

When Ahab saw Elijah, he said to him,“ Is it really you, the one who brings disaster on Israel?”

But now, why should we die, because this intense fire will consume us! If we keep hearing the voice of the LORD our God we will die!
