So the demons begged Him, saying,“ If You cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of swine.”

那些鬼魔就央求耶稣，说：“如果你要把我们赶出去，就叫我们进入这群猪里面去吧。”

惡魔求耶穌說：『你若趕我們，就打發我們進豬羣去吧。』

那些鬼魔就央求耶穌，說：「如果你要把我們趕出去，就叫我們進入這群豬裡面去吧。」

鬼求之曰、若逐我、則遣入豕羣、

魔求之曰、若逐我出、則許我入豕群、

群魔懇曰：『必欲驅我出、請發我入豕群。』

The demons begged Jesus,“ If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”

And the demons besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine.

So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

Jesus asked him, saying,“ What is your name?” And he said,“ Legion,” because many demons had entered him.And they begged Him that He would not command them to go out into the abyss.Now a herd of many swine was feeding there on the mountain. So they begged Him that He would permit them to enter them. And He permitted them.Then the demons went out of the man and entered the swine, and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the lake and drowned.

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;

So all the demons begged Him, saying,“ Send us to the swine, that we may enter them.”

And he cried out with a loud voice and said,“ What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me.”

Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”
