Then a teacher of the law came to him and said,“ Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

Then a teacher of the law came to him. He said,“ Teacher, I will follow you no matter where you go.”

And a scribe came up and said to him,“ Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

Then one of the teachers of religious law said to him,“ Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

A scribe approached him and said,“ Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

Then a scribe came and said to Him,“ Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.”

Then a certain scribe came and said to Him,“ Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.”

And there came a scribe, and said unto him, Teacher, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

A scribe approached Him and said,“ Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go!”

And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

Then an expert in the law came to him and said,“ Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

Simon Peter said to him,“ Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered,“ Where I am going, you can’t follow now, but you will follow afterwards.”Peter said to him,“ Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”Jesus answered him,“ Will you lay down your life for me? Most certainly I tell you, the rooster won’t crow until you have denied me three times.

He said to him,“ Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”He said,“ I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.”

So therefore whoever of you who doesn’t renounce all that he has, he can’t be my disciple.

As they went on the way, a certain man said to him,“ I want to follow you wherever you go, Lord.”Jesus said to him,“ The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”He said to another,“ Follow me!” But he said,“ Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”But Jesus said to him,“ Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce God’s Kingdom.”

The scribe said to him,“ Truly, teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he,and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him,“ You are not far from God’s Kingdom.” No one dared ask him any question after that.

Now great multitudes were going with him. He turned and said to them,“ If anyone comes to me, and doesn’t disregard his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he can’t be my disciple.Whoever doesn’t bear his own cross, and come after me, can’t be my disciple.

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

this Ezra went up from Babylon. He was a skilled scribe in the law of Moses, which Yahweh, the God of Israel, had given; and the king granted him all his request, according to Yahweh his God’s hand on him.
