一經生進曰：『夫子任爾所之、我願相從。』

Then a teacher of the law came to him and said,“ Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

And a scribe came up and said to him,“ Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

Then one of the teachers of religious law said to him,“ Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

Then an expert in the law came to him and said,“ Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow afterwards.Peter saith unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee even now? I will lay down my life for thee.Jesus answereth, Wilt thou lay down thy life for me? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.

And he said unto him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, until thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

So therefore whosoever he be of you that renounceth not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

And as they went on the way, a certain man said unto him, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.And Jesus said unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.But he said unto him, Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but go thou and publish abroad the kingdom of God.

And the scribe said unto him, Of a truth, Teacher, thou hast well said that he is one; and there is none other but he:and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is much more than all whole burnt- offerings and sacrifices.And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

Now there went with him great multitudes: and he turned, and said unto them,If any man cometh unto me, and hateth not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.Whosoever doth not bear his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

this Ezra went up from Babylon. And he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which Jehovah, the God of Israel, had given; and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of Jehovah his God upon him.
