說：「你們若留心聽你們上帝耶和華的話，做我視為正的事，遵守我所定下的律例，我就不把降在埃及的疾病加在你們身上，因為我耶和華是醫治你們的上帝。」

到了黃昏，人們把患各種疾病的人帶到耶穌面前。耶穌把手按在病人身上，一一治好他們，

耶穌上了岸，看見一大群人，心裡憐憫他們，就治好了他們當中的病人。

有人帶一個被鬼附身、又瞎又啞的人來見耶穌，耶穌便醫好他，使他能說能看。

人們甚至把病人抬到街上，放在床上或墊子上，希望彼得路過時的影子可以落在病人身上。

原來，耶穌已經對他身上的鬼說：「污鬼，從這人身上出來！」

日落之後，有人把病人和被鬼附身的人都帶來見耶穌。全城的人都聚在門前。耶穌醫好了許多患各種疾病的人，又趕出很多鬼。祂不准鬼說話，因為鬼認識祂。

那時，有幾個走江湖的猶太術士也想用耶穌的名趕鬼，他們向那些被邪靈附身的人說：「我奉保羅所傳講的耶穌之名，命令你們出來！」做這事的有猶太祭司長士基瓦的七個兒子。邪靈回答說：「耶穌，我認識；保羅，我也知道。但你們是誰？」被邪靈附身的人隨即撲向他們，攻擊他們，制伏了他們，使他們赤著身子帶著傷從屋裡逃走了。

耶穌走遍加利利，在各個會堂裡教導人，宣講天國的福音，醫治人們各樣的疾病。祂的名聲傳遍了整個敘利亞。人們把一切患病的，就是患各種疾病的、疼痛的、癲癇的、癱瘓的，以及被鬼附身的都帶到祂面前，祂都醫治了他們。

有四個人抬著一個癱瘓的人來見祂。

有人用擔架把一個癱子抬到耶穌面前。耶穌看見他們的信心，就對癱子說：「孩子，放心吧！你的罪得到赦免了。」

耶穌責備牠說：「住口，從他身上出來！」污鬼使那人抽搐了一陣，大叫一聲，就出來了。在場的人十分驚訝，彼此議論說：「這是怎麼回事？真是充滿權柄的新教導啊！竟然連污鬼都服從祂的命令。」

放豬的人逃進城，把事情的經過以及被鬼附身者的遭遇告訴了城裡的人。

耶穌看見人群都跑了過來，就斥責那污鬼：「你這個聾啞鬼，我命令你從他身上出來，不許再進去！」
