The fever left her and she began to wait on them.That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed.The whole town gathered at the door,and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was. (niv)

Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her.So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting,“ You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah. Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas? (niv)

“ Yes, he does,” he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak.“ What do you think, Simon?” he asked.“ From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes— from their own children or from others?” (niv)

They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. (niv)

Jesus replied,“ Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” (niv)

Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self- controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, (niv)

Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. (niv)
