他們一出會堂，就同雅各和約翰進了西門和安得烈的家。西門的岳母正發燒躺着，就有人告訴耶穌。耶穌進前拉着她的手，扶她起來，燒就退了，於是她服事他們。傍晚日落的時候，有人帶着一切害病的和被鬼附的，來到耶穌跟前。全城的人都聚集在門前。耶穌治好了許多害各樣病的人，又趕出許多鬼，不許鬼說話，因為鬼認識他。

耶穌出了會堂，進了西門的家。西門的岳母在發高燒，有些人為她求耶穌。耶穌站在她旁邊，斥責那高燒，燒就退了。她立刻起來服事他們。日落的時候，凡有病人的，不論害甚麼病，都帶到耶穌那裏。耶穌給他們每一個人按手，治好他們。又有鬼從好些人身上出來，喊着說：「你是神的兒子！」耶穌斥責他們，不許他們說話，因為他們知道他是基督。

難道我們沒有權利帶着信主的妻子一起出入，如同其餘的使徒，和主的兄弟們，和磯法一樣嗎？

彼得說：「納。」他進了屋子，耶穌先對他說：「西門，你的意見如何？世上的君王向誰徵收關稅或丁稅？是向自己的兒子呢？還是向外人呢？」

他們禁止嫁娶，又禁戒食物－就是神所造、讓那信而明白真理的人存感謝的心領受的。

耶穌說：「狐狸有洞，天空的飛鳥有窩，人子卻沒有枕頭的地方。」

監督必須無可指責，只作一個婦人的丈夫，有節制、克己、端正，樂意接待外人，善於教導，

婚姻，人人都當尊重，共眠的床也不可污穢，因為淫亂和通姦的人，神必審判。
