When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever.

Now as soon as they left the synagogue, they entered Simon and Andrew’s house, with James and John.Simon’s mother- in- law was lying down, sick with a fever, so they spoke to Jesus at once about her.He came and raised her up by gently taking her hand. Then the fever left her and she began to serve them.When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were sick and demon- possessed.The whole town gathered by the door.So he healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. But he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.

After Jesus left the synagogue, he entered Simon’s house. Now Simon’s mother- in- law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her.So he stood over her, commanded the fever, and it left her. Immediately she got up and began to serve them.As the sun was setting, all those who had any relatives sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus. He placed his hands on every one of them and healed them.Demons also came out of many, crying out,“ You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them, and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.

Do we not have the right to the company of a believing wife, like the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas?

He said,“ Yes.” When Peter came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first,“ What do you think, Simon? From whom do earthly kings collect tolls or taxes– from their sons or from foreigners?”

They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

Jesus said to him,“ Foxes have dens, and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

The overseer then must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, self- controlled, respectable, hospitable, an able teacher,

Marriage must be honored among all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge sexually immoral people and adulterers.
