凡聞我言而行之者、譬諸智人、建屋磐上、

故凡聞我此言而行之者、我譬之智人、建屋於磐上、

是以聞道而能篤實履踐者、譬諸有識者建屋於磐石之上、

Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock:

“ Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

“ Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock.

Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like.He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock.But he who hears, and doesn’t do, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”

If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

But he said,“ On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”

According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But let each man be careful how he builds on it.For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.Yes, a man will say,“ You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder.But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead?Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected.So the Scripture was fulfilled which says,“ Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith.In the same way, wasn’t Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, in that she received the messengers and sent them out another way?For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!

If you love me, keep my commandments.

You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.

The wise in heart accept commandments, but a chattering fool will fall.

Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror;for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

“ Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal;but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal;for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

Judas( not Iscariot) said to him,“ Lord, what has happened that you are about to reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?”Jesus answered him,“ If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him.He who doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words. The word which you hear isn’t mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love.

To man he said,‘ Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’”

Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

The entrance of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.

For this is loving God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.

“ Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it.How narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life! Few are those who find it.

“ Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.“ Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.You were running well! Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth?

but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. who“ will pay back to everyone according to their works:”to those who by perseverance in well- doing seek for glory, honor, and incorruptibility, eternal life;but to those who are self- seeking, and don’t obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, will be wrath, indignation,oppression, and anguish on every soul of man who does evil, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.

Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and don’t lie against the truth.This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

“ For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
