Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray.

But false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction.Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned.In covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words: whose sentence now from of old doesn’t linger, and their destruction will not slumber.

Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ.

For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.

For there will arise false christs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.But you watch.“ Behold, I have told you all things beforehand.

If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying,“ Let’s go after other gods”( which you have not known)“ and let’s serve them,”you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your God is testing you, to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ’s apostles.And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money: yet they lean on Yahweh, and say,“ Isn’t Yahweh among us? No disaster will come on us.”

Woe, when men speak well of you, for their fathers did the same thing to the false prophets.

You therefore, beloved, knowing these things beforehand, beware, lest being carried away with the error of the wicked, you fall from your own steadfastness.

For there are certain men who crept in secretly, even those who were long ago written about for this condemnation: ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into indecency, and denying our only Master, God, and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Yahweh says concerning the prophets who lead my people astray; for those who feed their teeth, they proclaim,“ Peace!” and whoever doesn’t provide for their mouths, they prepare war against him:“ Therefore night is over you, with no vision, and it is dark to you, that you may not divine; and the sun will go down on the prophets, and the day will be black over them.The seers shall be disappointed, and the diviners confounded. Yes, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer from God.”

The beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who worked the signs in his sight, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.

Her princes within it are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.

I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon.He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed.He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people.He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.It was given to him to give breath to it, to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn’t worship the image of the beast to be killed.He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads;and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them.For those who are such don’t serve our Lord, Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts,

Then Yahweh said to me,“ The prophets prophesy lies in my name. I didn’t send them. I didn’t command them. I didn’t speak to them. They prophesy to you a lying vision, divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their own heart.Therefore Yahweh says concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name, but I didn’t send them, yet they say,‘ Sword and famine will not be in this land.’ Those prophets will be consumed by sword and famine.The people to whom they prophesy will be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword. They will have no one to bury them— them, their wives, their sons, or their daughters, for I will pour their wickedness on them.

“ I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.In the prophets of Jerusalem I have also seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one returns from his wickedness. They have all become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.”Therefore Yahweh of Armies says concerning the prophets:“ Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink poisoned water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”Yahweh of Armies says,“ Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Yahweh.

holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power. Turn away from these, also.For some of these are people who creep into houses and take captive gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind, who concerning the faith are rejected.But they will proceed no further. For their folly will be evident to all men, as theirs also came to be.

In his teaching he said to them,“ Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and to get greetings in the marketplaces,and the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts:those who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”

How is it that you don’t perceive that I didn’t speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says concerning Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy a lie to you in my name:“ Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and he will kill them before your eyes.

Jesus said to them,“ Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

This was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage,

Beware of the dogs; beware of the evil workers; beware of the false circumcision.

For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.“ Behold, I have told you beforehand.

But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Her princes within her are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves. They leave nothing until the next day.Her prophets are arrogant and treacherous people. Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.

There is a conspiracy of her prophets within it, like a roaring lion ravening the prey. They have devoured souls. They take treasure and precious things. They have made many widows within it.

Beware therefore, lest that come on you which is spoken in the prophets:

Jesus answered them,“ Be careful that no one leads you astray.For many will come in my name, saying,‘ I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray.

Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.

therefore Yahweh says,“ Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his offspring. He will not have a man to dwell among this people. He won’t see the good that I will do to my people,” says Yahweh,“ because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh.”’”

that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;

He said to them,“ Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

The elder and the honorable man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.For those who lead this people lead them astray; and those who are led by them are destroyed.

But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron,forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits, something like frogs;

It will happen in that day, that the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision, when he prophesies; neither will they wear a hairy mantle to deceive:

He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep, and scatters them.

I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet,“ Listen, Hananiah! Yahweh has not sent you, but you make this people trust in a lie.Therefore Yahweh says,‘ Behold, I will send you away from off the surface of the earth. This year you will die, because you have spoken rebellion against Yahweh.’”So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.

to wit, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace,’” says the Lord Yahweh.’”

But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.

His watchmen are blind. They are all without knowledge. They are all mute dogs. They can’t bark— dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber.Yes, the dogs are greedy. They can never have enough. They are shepherds who can’t understand. They have all turned to their own way, each one to his gain, from every quarter.

For, uttering great swelling words of emptiness, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by licentiousness, those who are indeed escaping from those who live in error;promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for a man is brought into bondage by whoever overcomes him.

When they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar Jesus,

Because with lies you have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, and be saved alive.
