“ For many are called, but few are chosen.”

When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them,“ Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray.

Then Jesus said to His disciples,“ If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,“ This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Thus says the Lord:“ Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said,‘ We will not walk in it.’

Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel:“ Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, The remnant will be saved.For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, Because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”And as Isaiah said before:“ Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, We would have become like Sodom, And we would have been made like Gomorrah.”

who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.There is also an antitype which now saves us— baptism( not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

And one shall say,“ Heap it up! Heap it up! Prepare the way, Take the stumbling block out of the way of My people.”

“ Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.

They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.

So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.”

Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone.
