but the goal of this command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and sincere faith,

He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

“ But if the wicked turns from all his sins that he has committed, and keeps all my statutes, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live. He shall not die.

For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, and don’t walk after other gods to your own hurt;

Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be with you, as you say.Hate evil, love good, and establish justice in the courts. It may be that Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”

These are the things that you shall do: speak every man the truth with his neighbor. Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates,and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate,” says Yahweh.

Aren’t these the words which Yahweh proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and its cities around her, and the South and the lowland were inhabited?’”Yahweh’s word came to Zechariah, saying,“ Thus has Yahweh of Armies spoken, saying,‘ Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother.Don’t oppress the widow, nor the fatherless, the foreigner, nor the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart.’

I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and don’t fear me,” says Yahweh of Armies.

For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.For he who said,“ Do not commit adultery,” also said,“ Do not commit murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.So speak and so do, as men who are to be judged by a law of freedom.For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow.”“ Come now, and let’s reason together,” says Yahweh:“ Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
