“ That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life— whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

“ Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing?

Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

“ So don’t worry about these things, saying,‘ What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?“ And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing,

Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time.

Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said,“ That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life— whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear.For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?“ Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?“ And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things.These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs.Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.

“ So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

I want you to be free from the concerns of this life. An unmarried man can spend his time doing the Lord’s work and thinking how to please him.

but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.

The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity.

Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.

“ I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God’s angels.But anyone who denies me here on earth will be denied before God’s angels.

But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said,“ Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”But the Lord said to her,“ My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details!

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,“ I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”So we can say with confidence,“ The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”

But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

“ And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how to defend yourself or what to say,

“ Dear friends, don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot do any more to you after that.But I’ll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill you and then throw you into hell. Yes, he’s the one to fear.

But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.“ So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you,leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.“ When you are on the way to court with your adversary, settle your differences quickly. Otherwise, your accuser may hand you over to the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, and you will be thrown into prison.And if that happens, you surely won’t be free again until you have paid the last penny.“ You have heard the commandment that says,‘ You must not commit adultery.’But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
