爾毋儲富於地；蠹蝕焉、銹敗焉、竊者穿窬而盜焉。

Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said,“ I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”

So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming on you.Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth- eaten.Your gold and your silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be for a testimony against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up your treasure in the last days.

Don’t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint.Why do you set your eyes on that which is not? For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky.

But having food and clothing, we will be content with that.But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Charge those who are rich in this present world that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy;

When Jesus heard these things, he said to him,“ You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”

How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

Sell that which you have, and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches, neither moth destroys.

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Yahweh’s wrath, but the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy; for he will make an end, yes, a terrible end, of all those who dwell in the land.

He who loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he who loves abundance, with increase: this also is vanity.When goods increase, those who eat them are increased; and what advantage is there to its owner, except to feast on them with his eyes?The sleep of a laboring man is sweet, whether he eats little or much; but the abundance of the rich will not allow him to sleep.There is a grievous evil which I have seen under the sun: wealth kept by its owner to his harm.Those riches perish by misfortune, and if he has fathered a son, there is nothing in his hand.

Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said,“ How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!

Don’t trust in oppression. Don’t become vain in robbery. If riches increase, don’t set your heart on them.

“ Surely every man walks like a shadow. Surely they busy themselves in vain. He heaps up, and doesn’t know who shall gather.

Jesus said to him,“ If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

“ If I have made gold my hope, and have said to the fine gold,‘ You are my confidence;’

For to the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him who pleases God. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.
