『別為自己積儹財寶在地上了；地上有蟲子和鏽能弄壞，地上有賊能挖窟窿來偷。

「你們不要為自己在地上積蓄財寶，地上有蟲蛀，會鏽蝕，也有盜賊鑽進來偷竊；

勿積財於地、其處蠹蝕銹壞、盜穴而竊之、

勿積財於地蠹食銹壞、盜穴而竊之處、

勿積財於地、彼有蠹蝕朽壞、有盜穿窬而竊、

爾毋儲富於地；蠹蝕焉、銹敗焉、竊者穿窬而盜焉。

“ Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said,“ I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten.Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days.

Do not toil to acquire wealth; be discerning enough to desist.When your eyes light on it, it is gone, for suddenly it sprouts wings, flying like an eagle toward heaven.

But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

When Jesus heard this, he said to him,“ One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them on the day of the wrath of the Lord. In the fire of his jealousy, all the earth shall be consumed; for a full and sudden end he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth.

He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.When goods increase, they increase who eat them, and what advantage has their owner but to see them with his eyes?Sweet is the sleep of a laborer, whether he eats little or much, but the full stomach of the rich will not let him sleep.There is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: riches were kept by their owner to his hurt,and those riches were lost in a bad venture. And he is father of a son, but he has nothing in his hand.

Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said,“ How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!

Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!

Jesus said to him,“ If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

“ If I have made gold my trust or called fine gold my confidence,

For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.
