『別為自己積儹財寶在地上了；地上有蟲子和鏽能弄壞，地上有賊能挖窟窿來偷。

「你們不要為自己在地上積蓄財寶，地上有蟲蛀，會鏽蝕，也有盜賊鑽進來偷竊；

勿積財於地、其處蠹蝕銹壞、盜穴而竊之、

勿積財於地蠹食銹壞、盜穴而竊之處、

勿積財於地、彼有蠹蝕朽壞、有盜穿窬而竊、

爾毋儲富於地；蠹蝕焉、銹敗焉、竊者穿窬而盜焉。

你们为人不要贪爱钱财，要以现在所有的为满足；因为神亲自说过：“我决不撇下你，也不离弃你。”

凡为自己积财，在神面前却不富足的，也是这样。”

你们富有的人哪，应当为那将要临到你们的灾祸哭泣哀号。你们的财物朽坏了，你们的衣服给蛀了，你们的金银生锈，这锈要成为控告你们的铁证，又要像火一样吞吃你们的肉。你们竟然在这末后的日子积聚财宝。

不要劳碌求富，你要明智地放下这企图。你的眼睛注视在钱财上，钱财却不见了，因为钱财必长起翅膀，如鹰飞往天上。

只要有衣有食，就应当知足。但那些想要发财的人，就落在试探中和陷阱里；又落在许多无知而有害的私欲里，使人沉沦在败坏和灭亡中；因为贪财是万恶之根。有人贪爱钱财，就被引诱离开真道，用许多痛苦把自己刺透了。

你要嘱咐那些今世富有的人，叫他们不要心高气傲，也不要寄望在浮动的财富上，却要仰望那厚赐百物给我们享用的神。

耶稣听了，就告诉他：“你还缺少一件，应当变卖你一切所有的，分给穷人，你就必定有财宝在天上，而且你还要来跟从我。”

得智慧胜过得金子，选择哲理，胜过选择银子。

当变卖你们所有的施舍给人，为自己制造不朽坏的钱囊，积蓄用不尽的财宝在天上，就是贼不能近、虫不能蛀的地方。

在耶和华发怒的日子，他们的金银也不能救他们，全地都要被他的妒火吞灭；因为他要彻底毁灭地上所有的居民，真是可怕的毁灭。

贪爱银子的，不因有银子满足；贪爱财富的，也不因得利知足。这也是虚空。财物增加，吃用的人也增加，物主除了眼看以外，还有什么益处呢？劳力的人无论吃多吃少，都睡得甜；财主的丰足，却不容他安睡。我看见日光之下有一令人痛心的憾事，就是财主积聚财富，反受其害。遭遇祸患，财富就尽失；他即使生了儿子，也没有什么留给他。

在神发怒的日子，财物毫无益处；唯有公义能救人脱离死亡。

耶稣见他这样，就说：“富有的人要进神的国，是多么难哪！

不要倚靠藉强暴得来的财物，也不要妄想倚靠抢夺回来的钱财；如果财宝加增，你的心也不要倚靠它。

世人来来往往只是幻影，他们忙乱也是虚空；积聚财物，却不知道谁要来收取。

耶稣对他说：“如果你想要完全，就去变卖你所有的，分给穷人，你就必定有财宝在天上，而且你要来跟从我。”

我若以黄金为我所信靠的，又对精金说：‘你是我所靠赖的’；

神把智慧、知识和喜乐赐给他所喜悦的人，却使罪人作收集和积聚的差事，把所得的归给神所喜悦的人。这也是虚空，也是捕风。
