『別為自己積儹財寶在地上了；地上有蟲子和鏽能弄壞，地上有賊能挖窟窿來偷。

「你們不要為自己在地上積蓄財寶，地上有蟲蛀，會鏽蝕，也有盜賊鑽進來偷竊；

勿積財於地、其處蠹蝕銹壞、盜穴而竊之、

勿積財於地蠹食銹壞、盜穴而竊之處、

勿積財於地、彼有蠹蝕朽壞、有盜穿窬而竊、

爾毋儲富於地；蠹蝕焉、銹敗焉、竊者穿窬而盜焉。

不要贪爱钱财，要对自己拥有的知足，因为上帝说过：“我永不撇下你，也不离弃你。”

耶稣说：“这就是那些只顾为自己积财、在上帝面前却不富足之人的写照。”

你们这些富有的人啊！为那将要临到你们身上的灾难痛哭哀号吧！你们的财物朽坏了，衣服也被虫蛀了。你们的金银生了锈，那锈必要指控你们，像火一样吞噬你们的身体。在末世的日子里，你们只知道积攒财宝。

别为钱财耗尽心力，要明智，适可而止。钱财眨眼之间消逝无踪，它必长出翅膀如鹰飞去。

只要有吃有穿，就该知足。那些渴望发财的人却陷入诱惑、网罗和许多愚蠢有害的欲望中，以致落入败坏和灭亡中。贪财是万恶之根，有人因为贪财就离弃了信仰，结果饱尝种种锥心般的痛苦。

你要劝诫那些今世富足的人不要高傲，也不要冀望于靠不住的钱财，要信靠将万物厚赐给我们享用的上帝。

耶稣听了就对他说：“你还有一件事没有做，就是变卖你所有的产业，分给穷人，你必有财宝存在天上，然后你还要来跟从我。”

得智慧胜过得黄金，获悟性胜过获白银。

要变卖你们的家产去周济穷人，要为自己预备永不破损的钱袋，在天上积攒取之不尽的财宝，那里没有贼偷，也没有虫蛀。

在耶和华发怒的日子，他们的金银救不了他们。祂的怒火必吞噬大地，祂必骤然毁灭一切世人。”

贪爱钱财的，金银不能使他满足；贪图富裕的，再多的利益也不能叫他称心。这也是虚空！财富增加，消费的人也增加，这对财富的主人有什么益处呢？只是过眼烟云罢了！劳力的人不管吃多吃少，总是睡得香甜；富人的万贯家财却害得他不能成眠。我看到日光之下有一件可悲的事：有人积攒财宝，反而害了自己。经营不善，便财富尽失，什么也不能留给儿子。

在降怒之日，财富毫无益处，唯有公义能救人免于死亡。

耶稣见状，就说；“有钱人进上帝的国真难啊！

不要敲诈勒索，不要妄想靠偷盗发财，即使财富增多，也不要倚靠它。

人生不过是幻影，劳碌奔波却一场空，积蓄财富却不知谁来享用。

耶稣告诉他：“如果你想做到纯全，就去变卖所有的产业，送给穷人，你就必有财宝存在天上，然后你来跟从我。”

“我若仰仗金子，依靠纯金，

上帝把智慧、知识和喜乐赐给祂喜悦的人，却让罪人忙于积攒财富，然后把他们的财富赐给祂喜悦的人。这也是虚空，也是捕风。
