But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

惟我語汝、敵爾者愛之、窘逐爾者、為之祈禱、

惟我語汝、敵爾者愛之、詛爾者祝之、憾爾者善視之、陷害窘逐爾者、為之祈禱、

惟我語爾、敵爾者愛之、詛爾者祝之、憾爾者善待之、毀謗爾、窘逐爾者、為之祈禱、

惟吾語爾、愛爾仇讐、為辱爾者禱、

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

But here is what I tell you. Love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.

not paying back evil for evil or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing, since you were called for this, so that you may inherit a blessing.

“ But I say to you who listen: Love your enemies, do what is good to those who hate you,bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

Then Jesus said,“ Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided his clothes and cast lots.

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,for you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.

He knelt down and cried out with a loud voice,“ Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” And after saying this, he fell asleep.

when he was insulted, he did not insult in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten but entrusted himself to the one who judges justly.

And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners to be repaid in full.But love your enemies, do what is good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High. For he is gracious to the ungrateful and evil.

we labor, working with our own hands. When we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;when we are slandered, we respond graciously. Even now, we are like the scum of the earth, like everyone’s garbage.

Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant,is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs.Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.

“ If you come across your enemy’s stray ox or donkey, you must return it to him.“ If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying helpless under its load, and you want to refrain from helping it, you must help with it.

Elisha replied,“ Don’t kill them. Do you kill those you have captured with your sword or your bow? Set food and water in front of them so they can eat and drink and go to their master.”

Yet when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled myself with fasting, and my prayer was genuine.I went about mourning as if for my friend or brother; I was bowed down with grief, like one mourning for a mother.

if I have done harm to one at peace with me or have plundered my adversary without cause,

A prophet of the LORD named Oded was there. He went out to meet the army that came to Samaria and said to them,“ Look, the LORD God of your ancestors handed them over to you because of his wrath against Judah, but you slaughtered them in a rage that has reached heaven.Now you plan to reduce the people of Judah and Jerusalem, male and female, to slavery. Are you not also guilty before the LORD your God?Listen to me and return the captives you took from your brothers, for the LORD’s burning anger is on you.”So some men who were leaders of the Ephraimites— Azariah son of Jehohanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai— stood in opposition to those coming from the war.They said to them,“ You must not bring the captives here, for you plan to bring guilt on us from the LORD to add to our sins and our guilt. For we have much guilt, and burning anger is on Israel.”The army left the captives and the plunder in the presence of the officers and the congregation.Then the men who were designated by name took charge of the captives and provided clothes for their naked ones from the plunder. They clothed them, gave them sandals, food and drink, dressed their wounds, and provided donkeys for all the feeble. The Israelites brought them to Jericho, the City of Palms, among their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.
