The second is this:‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”“ Well said, teacher,” the man replied.“ You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him,“ You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions. He answered,“‘ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and,‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’”“ You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied.“ Do this and you will live.”But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?” (niv)

And the second is like it:‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (niv)

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven.”Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner.He said,“ Because hands were lifted up against the throne of the Lord, the Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation.” (niv)

“ You have heard that it was said to the people long ago,‘ You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ (niv)

Remember what the Amalekites did to you along the way when you came out of Egypt. (niv)
