惟我語爾、概勿誓、勿指天、以天乃上帝座也、

惟我語汝、概勿誓、勿指天而誓、天乃上帝座也、

惟我告爾、概勿誓、勿指天而誓、因天乃天主之寶座也、

第吾語爾、毋發誓；毋指天而誓、此天主之寶座也；

But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;

But here is what I tell you. Do not make any promises like that at all. Do not make them in the name of heaven. That is God’s throne.

我的弟兄们，最要紧的是不可起誓；不可指着天起誓，也不可指着地起誓，任何誓都不可起。你们说话，是，就说是；不是，就说不是，免得你们落在审判之下。

耶和华如此说：“天是我的座位；地是我的脚凳。你们能为我造怎样的殿宇呢？哪里是我安歇的地方呢？

“你向耶和华—你的神许愿，不可迟延还愿，因为耶和华—你的神必定向你追讨，你就有罪了。你若不许愿，倒没有罪。你嘴唇所说的，你亲口承诺的，要照你甘心向耶和华—你神许的愿谨守遵行。

“你们这瞎眼的向导有祸了！你们说：‘凡指着圣所起誓的算不得什么；但是凡指着圣所中的金子起誓的，他就该谨守。’你们这无知的瞎子啊，哪个更大呢？是金子，还是使金子成圣的圣所呢？你们又说：‘凡指着祭坛起誓的算不得什么；但是凡指着坛上祭物起誓的，他就该谨守。’你们这些瞎子啊，哪个更大呢？是祭物，还是使祭物成圣的坛呢？所以，人指着祭坛起誓，就是指着坛和坛上一切所有的起誓；人指着圣所起誓，就是指着圣所和那住在圣所里的起誓；人指着天起誓，就是指着神的宝座和那坐在上面的起誓。

那至高无上、永远长存、名为圣者的如此说：“我住在至高至圣的所在，却与心灵痛悔的谦卑人同住；要使谦卑的人心灵苏醒，使痛悔的人内心复苏。

凡临到众人的际遇都一样：义人和恶人，好人，洁净的人和不洁净的人，献祭的和不献祭的，都一样。好人如何，罪人也如何；起誓的如何，怕起誓的也如何。
