惟我語爾、概勿誓、勿指天、以天乃上帝座也、

惟我語汝、概勿誓、勿指天而誓、天乃上帝座也、

惟我告爾、概勿誓、勿指天而誓、因天乃天主之寶座也、

第吾語爾、毋發誓；毋指天而誓、此天主之寶座也；

But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;

But here is what I tell you. Do not make any promises like that at all. Do not make them in the name of heaven. That is God’s throne.

But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God,

But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say,‘ By heaven!’ because heaven is God’s throne.

我的弟兄們，最要緊的是不可起誓：不可指著天起誓，也不可指著地起誓，任何的誓都當禁絕。你們的話，是就說是，不是就說不是；免得你們落在審判之下。

耶和華這樣說：“天是我的寶座，地是我的腳凳；你們要在哪裡為我建造殿宇呢？怎樣的地方才是我安息的所在呢？”

“如果你向耶和華你的神許了願，就不可遲延還願，因為耶和華你的神必向你追討，那時你就有罪了。如果你不許願，你倒沒有罪。你嘴裡說出來的，你要謹守；你親口應許的甘心祭，就是你向耶和華你的神許的願，你要實行。

“你們這些瞎眼的嚮導有禍了！你們說：‘凡指著聖所而起的誓，是沒有用的；但指著聖所的金子而起的誓，就必須遵守。’你們這些瞎眼的愚昧人哪，到底是金子大，還是使金子成聖的聖所大呢？你們又說：‘凡指著祭壇所起的誓，是沒有用的；但指著壇上的祭物所起的誓，就必須遵守。’瞎眼的人哪！到底是祭物大，還是使祭物成聖的祭壇大呢？所以，凡指著祭壇起誓的，他就是指著祭壇和壇上的一切起誓；指著聖所起誓的，就是指著聖所和住在那裡的神起誓；指著天起誓的，就是指著神的寶座和坐在寶座上的起誓。

因為那至高無上、永遠存在、他名為聖的這樣說：“雖然我住在至高至聖的地方，卻與心靈痛悔和謙卑的人同在，要使謙卑人的靈甦醒，也使痛悔人的心甦醒。

眾人的命運都是一樣的：義人與惡人、好人與壞人、潔淨的與不潔淨的、獻祭的與不獻祭的，所遭遇的都是一樣的；好人怎樣，罪人也怎樣；起誓的怎樣，怕起誓的也怎樣。
