But I say that a man who divorces his wife, unless she has been unfaithful, causes her to commit adultery. And anyone who marries a divorced woman also commits adultery.

But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

But here is what I tell you. Anyone who divorces his wife makes her a victim of adultery. And anyone who gets married to the divorced woman commits adultery. A man may divorce his wife only if she has not been faithful to him.

But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.

So while her husband is alive, she would be committing adultery if she married another man. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law and does not commit adultery when she remarries.

“ For example, a man who divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery. And anyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.”

But for those who are married, I have a command that comes not from me, but from the Lord. A wife must not leave her husband.But if she does leave him, let her remain single or else be reconciled to him. And the husband must not leave his wife.

Jesus replied,“ Moses permitted divorce only as a concession to your hard hearts, but it was not what God had originally intended.And I tell you this, whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery— unless his wife has been unfaithful.”

But Jesus responded,“ He wrote this commandment only as a concession to your hard hearts.But‘ God made them male and female’ from the beginning of creation.‘ This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife,and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one,let no one split apart what God has joined together.”Later, when he was alone with his disciples in the house, they brought up the subject again.He told them,“ Whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery against her.And if a woman divorces her husband and marries someone else, she commits adultery.”

The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.

But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

You cry out,“ Why doesn’t the Lord accept my worship?” I’ll tell you why! Because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife made when you were young. But you have been unfaithful to her, though she remained your faithful partner, the wife of your marriage vows.Didn’t the Lord make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth.“ For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel.“ To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.”

Then a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him.”

Suddenly, two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared and began talking with Jesus.
