But I tell you, everyone who divorces his wife, except in a case of sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

But here is what I tell you. Anyone who divorces his wife makes her a victim of adultery. And anyone who gets married to the divorced woman commits adultery. A man may divorce his wife only if she has not been faithful to him.

But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

But I say that a man who divorces his wife, unless she has been unfaithful, causes her to commit adultery. And anyone who marries a divorced woman also commits adultery.

but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.

So then, if she is married to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she is married to another man, she is not an adulteress.

“ Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and everyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

To the married I give this command— not I, but the Lord— a wife is not to leave her husband.But if she does leave, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband— and a husband is not to divorce his wife.

He told them,“ Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of the hardness of your hearts, but it was not like that from the beginning.I tell you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another commits adultery.”

But Jesus told them,“ He wrote this command for you because of the hardness of your hearts.But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female.For this reason a man will leave his father and motherand the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh.Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”When they were in the house again, the disciples questioned him about this matter.He said to them,“ Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.Also, if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

A wife does not have the right over her own body, but her husband does. In the same way, a husband does not have the right over his own body, but his wife does.

But I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

And you ask,“ Why?” Because even though the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, you have acted treacherously against her. She was your marriage partner and your wife by covenant.Didn’t God make them one and give them a portion of spirit? What is the one seeking? Godly offspring. So watch yourselves carefully, so that no one acts treacherously against the wife of his youth.“ If he hates and divorces his wife,” says the LORD God of Israel,“ he covers his garment with injustice,” says the LORD of Armies. Therefore, watch yourselves carefully, and do not act treacherously.

Then a voice came from the cloud, saying,“ This is my Son, the Chosen One; listen to him!”

Suddenly, two men were talking with him— Moses and Elijah.
