并且是“一块绊脚的石头，使人绊倒的磐石。”他们绊倒是因为不肯信从这话语，而这也是被预定的。

那领了五千两银子的，带着另外的五千两上前来，说：‘主啊，你交托给我五千两银子，请看，我另外赚了五千两。’

凡不因我被绊倒的人，就蒙福了。”

对他来说，就算脖子上拴着大磨石，被丢到海里，也比他使这些卑微人中的一个绊倒更好。

正如经上所记：“看哪，我在锡安放一块绊脚的石头，是使人绊倒的磐石；可是信靠他的人将不至于蒙羞。”

我要指示你们该惧怕的是谁：你们当惧怕那杀了身体以后，又有权把人扔进地狱的那一位。是的，我告诉你们：当惧怕这一位。

那时，耶稣对他们说：“今天晚上，你们都将因我被绊倒，因为经上记着：‘我将击打牧人，群羊就被分散。’

“但无论谁使信我的这些卑微人中的一个绊倒，对那人来说，倒不如脖子上被拴上大磨石，沉到深海里。这世界有祸了，因为有使人绊脚的事；要知道，那些使人绊脚的事必然出现，不过使它出现的人有祸了。

只是他里面没有根而不能持久，一旦为这话语受患难或逼迫，他立刻就放弃了。

“于是王吩咐仆人们：‘把他的手脚捆起来，丢到外面的黑暗里去！在那里将有哀哭和切齿。’

但耶稣转身对彼得说：“撒旦，退到我后面去！你是我的绊脚石，因为你不是思想神的事，而是思想人的事。”

不要因食物的缘故破坏神的工作。一切固然都是洁净的，但如果有人因吃东西使人绊脚，这就是恶事了。不在吃肉、喝酒、或其他事上使你的弟兄绊倒，这才是好的。

所以，如果食物使我的弟兄绊倒，我就绝不吃肉直到永远，免得使我的弟兄绊倒。

弟兄们，如果我仍然传讲割礼，我为什么还受逼迫呢？如果我这样做，十字架使人绊脚的地方早就没有了。
