你們的話語總要帶著恩惠，像用鹽調和過的，好使你們知道該怎樣回答每一個人。

「因此鹽是好的，但如果連鹽也失去了味道，還能用什麼來調味呢？把它用在田地裡或在糞肥裡都不合適，只好把它丟在外面。凡是有耳可聽的，就應當聽！」

要知道，每個人都將被火醃成鹹的。鹽是好的，但如果那鹽也不鹹了，還能用什麼來調味呢？你們裡面要有鹽，要彼此和睦。」

原來，如果有人蒙過一次光照、嘗過屬天恩賜的滋味、曾經與聖靈有份、嘗過神美善的話語和將要來臨之世代的權能，卻背棄了真理，就不可能再次更新以至於悔改了。因為他們親自把神的兒子再次釘上十字架，公然羞辱他。

原來，他們如果藉著認識我們的主、救主耶穌基督而逃脫這世界的汙穢，卻又被這些汙穢糾纏、制伏了，那麼，他們最後的情況就比先前更壞了；因為認識了義的道路以後，背離那交託給他們的神聖誡命，對他們來說，倒不如不認識還好。
