因着信，摩西長大了不肯稱為法老女兒之子。他寧可和神的百姓一同受苦，也不願在罪中享受片刻的歡樂。他把為彌賽亞受凌辱看得比埃及的財物更寶貴，因為他想望所要得的賞賜。

王說：「這大巴比倫豈不是我用大能大力建為首都，要顯示我威嚴的榮耀嗎？」

魔鬼又領他上了高山，霎時間把天下萬國都指給他看，對他說：「這一切權柄和榮華我都要給你，因為這原是交給我的，我願意給誰就給誰。你若在我面前下拜，這一切都歸你。」

因為「凡血肉之軀的盡都如草，他的一切榮美像草上的花；草必枯乾，花必凋謝，

他把他榮耀國度的豐富和他偉大威嚴的尊貴給他們看了許多日子，共一百八十天。
