人若贏得全世界，卻賠上自己的性命，能得着甚麼益處呢？人要拿出甚麼來對換自己的性命呢？

你見人發財、家增豪富，你可不要懼怕；因為他死的時候、甚麼也不能帶走；他的財寶並不能隨他下去。

因着信、摩西長大的時候、拒絕稱為法老女兒的兒子；寧可選擇跟上帝的子民同受虐待，也不願意有罪惡中暫時的享受。因為他看被膏者所要受的辱罵、比埃及的寶藏為更大的財富：他轉臉注視着那賞報。

王應時說：『這豈不是大巴比倫，我用我財力的權勢所建築、做王家宮殿，要顯示我威嚴之光榮的麼？』

魔鬼就領他上高地方，霎時間把天下萬國都指給他看。對他說：『這一切權柄與其榮華，我都要給你；因為這是交付給我的，我願意給誰、就給誰。所以你若在我面前下拜，一切就都是你的。』

因為『一切血肉之人盡都如草，他的一切榮華都像草上的花；草必枯乾，花必凋謝；

他把他光榮之國的豐富和他宏大威儀之華貴給他們看了許多日子，共有一百八十天。

哈曼將他財富之豐厚、他兒女之眾多、以及王怎樣使他尊大、怎樣高升了他超過眾官長和王的臣僕們、都敘說給他們聽。
