And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

The tempter came to him and said,“ If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

And the tempter came and said to him,“ If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.”

During that time the devil came and said to him,“ If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”

Then the tempter approached him and said,“ If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

And the tempter came and said to Him,“ If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

Now when the tempter came to Him, he said,“ If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

And the tempter came and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.

And the mixt multitude that[ was] among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:But now our soul[ is] dried away:[ there is] nothing at all, beside this manna,[ before] our eyes.

For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:But of the fruit of the tree which[ is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he[ is] in thine hand; but save his life.So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired[ to have] you, that he may sift[ you] as wheat:But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast[ some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness.And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath[ is] in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots,[ and] when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he[ was] faint:And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red[ pottage]; for I[ am] faint: therefore was his name called Edom.And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.And Esau said, Behold, I[ am] at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised[ his] birthright.

Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Lest there[ be] any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:

And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
