He replied to them,“ Go and report to John the things you have seen and heard: The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those with skin diseases are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news.

Since He had healed many, all who had diseases were pressing toward Him to touch Him.

When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard Him were astonished.“ Where did this man get these things?” they said.“ What is this wisdom given to Him, and how are these miracles performed by His hands?

As a result, they would carry the sick out into the streets and lay them on cots and mats so that when Peter came by, at least his shadow might fall on some of them.In addition, a large group came together from the towns surrounding Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

Soon afterward He was traveling from one town and village to another, preaching and telling the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with Him,

This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations. And then the end will come.

Moving on from there, He entered their synagogue.

When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick,so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: He Himself took our weaknesses and carried our diseases.

As usual, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read.The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to Him, and unrolling the scroll, He found the place where it was written:The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,

When evening came, after the sun had set, they began bringing to Him all those who were sick and those who were demon-possessed.The whole town was assembled at the door,and He healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. But He would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew Him.

And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who announce the gospel of good things!

“ I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus answered him.“ I have always taught in the synagogue and in the temple complex, where all the Jews congregate, and I haven’t spoken anything in secret.

After John was arrested, Jesus went to Galilee, preaching the good news of God:

And He was amazed at their unbelief. Now He was going around the villages in a circuit, teaching.

and large crowds came to Him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, those unable to speak, and many others. They put them at His feet, and He healed them.So the crowd was amazed when they saw those unable to speak talking, the deformed restored, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they gave glory to the God of Israel.

But He said to them,“ I must proclaim the good news about the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because I was sent for this purpose.”And He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.

They said in their hearts,“ Let us oppress them relentlessly.” They burned down every place throughout the land where God met with us.

“ Lord,” Ananias answered,“ I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.And he has authority here from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.”But the Lord said to him,“ Go! For this man is My chosen instrument to take My name to Gentiles, kings, and the Israelites.I will show him how much he must suffer for My name!”So Ananias left and entered the house. Then he placed his hands on him and said,“ Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road you were traveling, has sent me so that you can regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”At once something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized.And after taking some food, he regained his strength. Saul was with the disciples in Damascus for some days.Immediately he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues:“ He is the Son of God.”But all who heard him were astounded and said,“ Isn’t this the man who, in Jerusalem, was destroying those who called on this name and then came here for the purpose of taking them as prisoners to the chief priests?”But Saul grew more capable and kept confounding the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that this One is the Messiah.After many days had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him,but their plot became known to Saul. So they were watching the gates day and night intending to kill him,but his disciples took him by night and lowered him in a large basket through an opening in the wall.When he arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to associate with the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, since they did not believe he was a disciple.Barnabas, however, took him and brought him to the apostles and explained to them how Saul had seen the Lord on the road and that He had talked to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken boldly in the name of Jesus.Saul was coming and going with them in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.He conversed and debated with the Hellenistic Jews, but they attempted to kill him.When the brothers found out, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.So the church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace, being built up and walking in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, and it increased in numbers.As Peter was traveling from place to place, he also came down to the saints who lived in Lydda.There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years.Peter said to him,“ Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed,” and immediately he got up.So all who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. She was always doing good works and acts of charity.In those days she became sick and died. After washing her, they placed her in a room upstairs.Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples heard that Peter was there and sent two men to him who begged him,“ Don’t delay in coming with us.”So Peter got up and went with them. When he arrived, they led him to the room upstairs. And all the widows approached him, weeping and showing him the robes and clothes that Dorcas had made while she was with them.Then Peter sent them all out of the room. He knelt down, prayed, and turning toward the body said,“ Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, saw Peter, and sat up.He gave her his hand and helped her stand up. Then he called the saints and widows and presented her alive.This became known throughout Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.And Peter stayed on many days in Joppa with Simon, a leather tanner.

As He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath,

On one of those days while He was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea, and also from Jerusalem. And the Lord’s power to heal was in Him.

When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one sown along the path.

He said these things while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

As you go, announce this:‘ The kingdom of heaven has come near.’Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with skin diseases, drive out demons. You have received free of charge; give free of charge.

“ And now I know that none of you will ever see my face again— everyone I went about preaching the kingdom to.

When the crowds found out, they followed Him. He welcomed them, spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and cured those who needed healing.

After coming down with them, He stood on a level place with a large crowd of His disciples and a great number of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon.

When the sun was setting, all those who had anyone sick with various diseases brought them to Him. As He laid His hands on each one of them, He would heal them.Also, demons were coming out of many, shouting and saying,“ You are the Son of God!” But He rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew He was the Messiah.

He reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath and tried to persuade both Jews and Greeks.

One day as He was teaching the people in the temple complex and proclaiming the good news, the chief priests and the scribes, with the elders, came up

As He stepped ashore, He saw a huge crowd, felt compassion for them, and healed their sick.

After this, Jesus traveled in Galilee, since He did not want to travel in Judea because the Jews were trying to kill Him.

Heal the sick who are there, and tell them,‘ The kingdom of God has come near you.’

and saying,“ Repent, because the kingdom of heaven has come near!”
