Simon Peter, Thomas( called“ Twin”), Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two others of his disciples were together.

Taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled.

After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and his brother John and led them up on a high mountain by themselves.

He did not let anyone accompany him except Peter, James, and John, James’s brother.

Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons approached him with her sons. She knelt down to ask him for something.“ What do you want?” he asked her.“ Promise,” she said to him,“ that these two sons of mine may sit, one on your right and the other on your left, in your kingdom.”

and he executed James, John’s brother, with the sword.
