Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew; and James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;

Simon, whom He also named Peter, and his brother Andrew; and James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew;

As He was going along the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen.And Jesus said to them,“ Follow Me, and I will have you become fishers of people.”Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.And going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, who were also in the boat mending the nets.Immediately He called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, and went away to follow Him.

Departing from there, Jesus went along the Sea of Galilee, and after going up on the mountain, He was sitting there.

Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;and He saw two boats lying at the edge of the lake; but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.And He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little distance from the land. And He sat down and continued teaching the crowds from the boat.Now when He had finished speaking, He said to Simon,“ Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.”Simon responded and said,“ Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets.”And when they had done this, they caught a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to tear;so they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats, to the point that they were sinking.But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying,“ Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”For amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken;and likewise also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon,“ Do not fear; from now on you will be catching people.”When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him.

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee( or Tiberias).

the Arabah also, with the Jordan as a border, from Chinnereth even as far as the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah on the east.

and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down and reach to the slope on the east side of the Sea of Chinnereth.

After these things Jesus revealed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and He revealed Himself in this way:

So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat while he was plowing, with twelve yoke of oxen in front of him, and he with the twelfth. And Elijah came over to him and threw his cloak on him.Then he left the oxen behind and ran after Elijah, and said,“ Please let me kiss my father and my mother, then I will follow you.” And he said to him,“ Go back, for what have I done to you?”So he returned from following him, and took the pair of oxen and sacrificed them, and cooked their meat with the implements of the oxen, and gave it to the people and they ate. Then he got up and followed Elijah and served him.

He also chose His servant David And took him from the sheepfolds;From the care of the ewes with nursing lambs He brought him To shepherd Jacob His people, And Israel His inheritance.So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them with his skillful hands.

Again He left the region of Tyre and came through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, within the region of Decapolis.

Now Moses was pasturing the flock of his father in law Jethro, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Then the angel of the Lord came and sat under the oak that was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, as his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press in order to save it from the Midianites.And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him,“ The Lord is with you, valiant warrior.”

but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,and the insignificant things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are,so that no human may boast before God.

And now come, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.”

One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother,* said to Him,

Then Amos replied to Amaziah,“ I am not a prophet, nor am I the son of a prophet; for I am a herdsman and a grower of sycamore figs.But the Lord took me from following the flock, and the Lord said to me,‘ Go prophesy to My people Israel.’
