This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:

to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:

In that way, what the prophet Isaiah had said came true. He had said,

This happened so that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled:

Nevertheless, the gloom of the distressed land will not be like that of the former times when He humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali. But in the future He will bring honor to the Way of the Sea, to the land east of the Jordan, and to Galilee of the nations.The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness.

Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet:

so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:Here is My Servant whom I have chosen, My beloved in whom My soul delights; I will put My Spirit on Him, and He will proclaim justice to the nations.He will not argue or shout, and no one will hear His voice in the streets.He will not break a bruised reed, and He will not put out a smoldering wick, until He has led justice to victory.The nations will put their hope in His name.

For these things happened so that the Scripture would be fulfilled: Not one of His bones will be broken.Also, another Scripture says: They will look at the One they pierced.

But this happened so that the statement written in their scripture might be fulfilled: They hated Me for no reason.

so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: He Himself took our weaknesses and carried our diseases.

For I tell you, what is written must be fulfilled in Me: And He was counted among the outlaws. Yes, what is written about Me is coming to its fulfillment.”

After this, when Jesus knew that everything was now accomplished that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He said,“ I’m thirsty!”

He stayed there until Herod’s death, so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled: Out of Egypt I called My Son.

Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets, that He will be called a Nazarene.

Then He told them,“ These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you— that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”

But all this has happened so that the prophetic Scriptures would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted Him and ran away.
