But Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffereth him.

耶穌曰、今姑許我、我儕亦如是以盡諸義、乃許之、

耶穌曰、今姑吾許、吾儕當如是以盡禮、乃許之、

耶穌謂之曰、今姑許我、因我儕當如是以盡諸義、約翰乃許之、

耶穌應曰：『茲姑許之、聊以盡義。』如望乃許之。

Jesus replied,“ Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.

Jesus replied,“ Let it be this way for now. It is right for us to do this. It carries out God’s holy plan.” Then John agreed.

But Jesus answered him,“ Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.

But Jesus said,“ It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize him.

Jesus answered him,“ Allow it for now, because this is the way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John allowed him to be baptized.

But Jesus, answering, said to him,“ Allow it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he* allowed Him.

But Jesus answered and said to him,“ Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.

Jesus answered him,“ Allow it for now, because this is the way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him to be baptized.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer[ it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

So Jesus replied to him,“ Let it happen now, for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John yielded to him.

But Jesus, answering, said to him,“ Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him.

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work.

And he that sent me is with me; he hath not left me alone; for I do always the things that are pleasing to him.

Then said I, Lo, I am come; In the roll of the book it is written of me:I delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart.

For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

he that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk even as he walked.

For I have given you an example, that ye also should do as I have done to you.

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt understand hereafter.Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.

It pleased Jehovah, for his righteousness’ sake, to magnify the law, and make it honorable.

but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.

For such a high priest became us, holy, guileless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
