I am a witness that this is God’s Chosen One.”

But then he heard that Archelaus was king of Judea. Archelaus was ruling in place of his father Herod. This made Joseph afraid to go there. Joseph had been warned in a dream. So he went back to the land of Galilee instead.

When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened.The Holy Spirit came to rest on him in the form of a dove. A voice came from heaven. It said,“ You are my Son, and I love you. I am very pleased with you.”

At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee. John baptized Jesus in the Jordan River.Jesus was coming up out of the water. Just then he saw heaven being torn open. Jesus saw the Holy Spirit coming down on him like a dove.A voice spoke to him from heaven. It said,“ You are my Son, and I love you. I am very pleased with you.”
