「萬軍之耶和華說，『那日要來臨了，就像燒紅的火爐，所有狂妄自大、作惡多端的人都要像碎稭一樣被火燒盡，連根帶枝，蕩然無存。

讓它們跟麥子一起生長吧，到收割的時候，我會吩咐收割的工人先把毒麥收集起來，紮成捆，留著燒，然後將麥子存入穀倉。』」

毀滅巴比倫人的日子一到，我要差遣外族人從四面八方攻擊、消滅他們，如同狂風捲走碎稭。

你要簸它們，讓風吹散它們，讓狂風捲走它們。但你要以耶和華為喜樂，以以色列的聖者為榮耀。

主耶和華說，『我要向這地方的人、牲畜、田野的樹木和地裡的出產發怒，發烈怒，如無法熄滅的火。』」

惡人的光景卻截然不同！他們就像被風吹散的糠秕。

人子也將派天使把一切引人犯罪和作孽的人從祂國裡挑出來，

然而，祂來臨的日子，誰能承受得了呢？祂出現的時候，誰能站立得住呢？因為祂像煉金之火，又像漂白衣裳的鹼。祂要坐下來，像煉淨銀子的人那樣潔淨利未的子孫，像熬煉金銀一樣熬煉他們，使他們憑公義向耶和華獻祭。

耕田的牛和驢必吃用叉子和鏟子揚淨、拌上鹽的飼料。

他們必出去觀看那些背叛我之人的屍體，因為咬他們的蟲永遠不死，燒他們的火永遠不滅，世人都必厭惡他們。」

他們的根必朽爛，花朵如飛塵飄落，就像火焰吞滅禾稭，燒盡乾草，因為他們厭棄以色列之聖者的訓誨，藐視萬軍之耶和華的言語。

我要在這片土地上的各城門口用簸箕簸散我的子民，使他們喪掉兒女；我要滅絕他們，因為他們不思悔改。

屬於我的枝子如果不結果子，祂就把它剪掉；如果結果子，祂便修剪它，讓它結更多的果子。

願耶和華的天使驅散他們，如風吹散糠秕！

如果你一隻手使你犯罪，就砍掉它！

雖然萬民喧囂如洶湧的洪水，但上帝一聲斥責，他們便逃往遠方，像山頂上被風捲走的糠秕，又如狂風颳走的塵埃。

但如果你們不聽我的話，不守安息日為聖日，仍在安息日運貨物進耶路撒冷的城門，我必在各城門點起無法撲滅的大火，燒毀耶路撒冷的宮殿。』」

他們像晨霧，如轉瞬即逝的朝露，像麥場上飛旋而去的糠秕，又像窗口冒出的輕煙。

你們中間有權勢的人必因他們的惡行而遭毀滅，好像火花點燃枯木，無人能救。

那時，義人要在他們天父的國度像太陽一樣發出光輝。有耳朵的，都應當聽。

那時，耶和華必對這群百姓和耶路撒冷人說：「一陣熱風從荒野光禿的山頭吹向我的子民，不是為揚場、吹淨糠秕。

他們何曾像風中的碎稭，像被暴風捲去的糠秕？

你要對南地的樹林說，『你要聽耶和華的話。主耶和華說，我要在你那裡燃起火來，燒毀你所有的青樹和枯樹。這不熄的烈火要從南到北燒焦一切。這樣，世人便知道這烈火是我耶和華點燃的，它絕不會熄滅。』」

「因為我要下令在列國中篩以色列家，就像人篩穀物，一粒石子也不會落在地上。

世界末日的時候也是這樣。天使必把惡人從義人中揀出來，丟在火爐裡，讓惡人在那裡哀哭切齒。
