於是她們出來，從墳墓那裏逃走，又發抖又驚訝，甚麼也沒有告訴人，因為她們害怕。〔9凡耶穌所吩咐的，她們簡潔地告訴彼得和他周圍的人。這些事以後，耶穌親自藉着他的門徒，從東到西，把那神聖、不朽、永遠拯救的福音傳出去。阿們！〕

你們現在也是憂愁，但我要再見到你們，你們的心就會有喜樂了；這喜樂沒有人能奪去。

然而有許多祭司、利未人和族長，就是見過先前那殿的老年人，現在親眼看見這殿立了根基，就大聲哭號，也有許多人大聲歡呼，百姓不能分辨歡呼的聲音或哭號的聲音，因為百姓大聲呼喊，聲音連遠處都可聽到。

說了這話，他把手和肋旁給他們看。門徒一看見主就喜樂了。於是耶穌又對他們說：「願你們平安！父怎樣差遣了我，我也照樣差遣你們。」

我實實在在地告訴你們，你們將要痛哭，哀號，世人反要歡喜。你們將要憂愁，然而你們的憂愁要變成喜樂。
