The two were running together; and the other disciple ran ahead, faster than Peter, and came to the tomb first;and he stooped to look in, and* saw the linen wrappings lying there; however he did not go in.So Simon Peter also* came, following him, and he entered the tomb; and he* looked at the linen wrappings lying there,and the face cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings but folded up in a place by itself.So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb also entered then, and he saw and believed.For they did not yet understand the Scripture, that He must rise from the dead.

for just as Jonah was in the stomach of the sea monster for three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

From that time Jesus began to point out to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go to Jerusalem and to suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised up on the third day.

And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise from the dead.

and they said,“ Sir, we remember that when that deceiver was still alive, He said,‘ After three days I am rising.’

and they will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and flog and crucify, and on the third day He will be raised up.”

When they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying,“ Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”

For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it back.

Then Jesus* said to them,“ You will all fall away because of Me this night, for it is written:‘ I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’But after I have been raised, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”

Nevertheless, Peter got up and ran to the tomb; and when he stooped and looked in, he* saw the linen wrappings only; and he went away to his home, marveling at what had happened.

and did not find His body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive.

Jesus answered them,“ Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

and they will kill Him, and He will be raised on the third day.” And they were deeply grieved.
