He said,“ Don’t be afraid, you who are treasured by God. Peace to you; be very strong!” As he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said,“ Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”

Say to the cowardly:“ Be strong; do not fear! Here is your God; vengeance is coming. God’s retribution is coming; he will save you.”

When Zechariah saw him, he was terrified and overcome with fear.But the angel said to him,“ Do not be afraid, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will name him John.

So the women were terrified and bowed down to the ground.“ Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” asked the men.

Then the angel told her,“ Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

Immediately Jesus spoke to them.“ Have courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

“ Don’t be alarmed,” he told them.“ You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they put him.

Boast in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
