發現那石頭已經從墓穴被滾開了。她們就進去，卻找不到主耶穌的遺體。她們正為這件事心裡困惑的時候，忽然有兩個人，身穿閃閃發光的衣服，站在她們旁邊。婦女們嚇得把臉伏在地上。那兩個人對她們說：「你們為什麼在死人中尋找活人呢？

她們互相說：「誰能替我們滾開墓穴口的石頭呢？」原來那塊石頭非常大。可是她們抬頭一看，見石頭已經被滾開了。她們進了墓穴，看見一個年輕人身穿白袍坐在右邊，就大吃一驚。

突然發生了強烈的地震，結果監獄的地基都被搖動，所有的監門立刻打開了，每個囚犯的鎖鏈也都鬆開了。

正如大家所承認的，敬神的奧祕是極大的：神以肉身顯現，被聖靈證實，被天使觀看，被傳於萬邦，被世人信仰，被接在榮耀裡。

忽然，聖所裡的幔子從上到下裂成兩半。大地震動，岩石裂開。墳墓也開了，許多已睡了的聖徒的身體復活了。耶穌復活以後，他們從墳墓裡出來，進了聖城，向許多人顯現。

在一週頭一天的清晨，天還黑的時候，茉大拉的瑪麗亞就來到墓穴那裡，看見那石頭已經從墓穴被挪開了。

隨後，神在天上的聖所開了，他的約櫃在他聖所中顯現。接著有閃電、聲音、雷鳴、地震和大冰雹。
