她们互相说：“谁能替我们滚开墓穴口的石头呢？”原来那块石头非常大。可是她们抬头一看，见石头已经被滚开了。她们进了墓穴，看见一个年轻人身穿白袍坐在右边，就大吃一惊。

突然发生了强烈的地震，结果监狱的地基都被摇动，所有的监门立刻打开了，每个囚犯的锁链也都松开了。

正如大家所承认的，敬神的奥秘是极大的：神以肉身显现，被圣灵证实，被天使观看，被传于万邦，被世人信仰，被接在荣耀里。

忽然，圣所里的幔子从上到下裂成两半。大地震动，岩石裂开。坟墓也开了，许多已睡了的圣徒的身体复活了。耶稣复活以后，他们从坟墓里出来，进了圣城，向许多人显现。

在一周头一天的清晨，天还黑的时候，茉大拉的玛丽亚就来到墓穴那里，看见那石头已经从墓穴被挪开了。

随后，神在天上的圣所开了，他的约柜在他圣所中显现。接着有闪电、声音、雷鸣、地震和大冰雹。
