看見兩個穿著白衣的天使分別坐在原來安放耶穌遺體的頭腳兩端。天使對她說：「婦人，你為什麼哭呢？」她說：「有人把我的主搬走了，不知道放在什麼地方。」

他們得到啟示，知道他們傳講這些事不是為了自己，而是為了你們。現在，那些靠著從天上差來的聖靈向你們傳福音的人，已經將這些事傳給你們了。連天使也想把這些事看個明白。

發現墓口的大石頭已經滾到旁邊，便進去，卻沒有看見主耶穌的遺體。正在猜疑之間，突然有兩個衣服發光的人站在旁邊，她們嚇得俯伏在地。那兩個人對她們說：「你們為什麼在死人中找活人呢？

途中她們彼此議論說：「誰能替我們滾開墓口那塊大石頭呢？」她們抬頭一看，那塊大石頭已經滾到一旁。她們進了墳墓，看見一位身穿潔白長袍的青年坐在右邊，嚇了一跳。

突然間發生大地震，整座監獄的地基都搖動起來，牢門立刻全開了，囚犯的鎖鏈也都鬆開了。

毫無疑問，我們偉大的信仰奧妙無比：祂以肉身顯現，被聖靈證明為義，被天使看見，被傳揚到列邦，被世人信奉，被接到天上的榮耀中。

就在那時，聖殿裡的幔子從上到下裂成兩半，大地震動，岩石崩裂，墳墓打開，很多死去的聖徒復活過來。他們在耶穌復活後離開墳墓，進聖城向許多人顯現。

週日清晨，天還未亮，抹大拉的瑪麗亞就來到墳墓前，發現封住墓口的石頭已經挪開了。

那時，天上上帝的聖殿敞開了，殿內的約櫃清晰可見，又有閃電、巨響、雷鳴、地震和大冰雹。
