and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.You are witnesses of these things.

He says,“ It is not enough for you to be My Servant raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected ones of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations, to be My salvation to the ends of the earth.”

Then Paul and Barnabas boldly said:“ It was necessary that God’s message be spoken to you first. But since you reject it and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles!For this is what the Lord has commanded us: I have made you a light for the Gentiles to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”

“ Then what baptism were you baptized with?” he asked them.“ With John’s baptism,” they replied.Paul said,“ John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people that they should believe in the One who would come after him, that is, in Jesus.”When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ like a garment.

Therefore, let it be known to you that this saving work of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen!”

For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord. All the families of the nations will bow down before You,for kingship belongs to the Lord; He rules over the nations.

Approach Me and listen to this. From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time anything existed, I was there.” And now the Lord God has sent me and His Spirit.

The Lord has made His victory known; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations.He has remembered His love and faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen our God’s victory.

Then God said,“ Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, all the earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.”

The Lord has displayed His holy arm in the sight of all the nations; all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.

Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you( not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the pledge of a good conscience toward God) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

After they had evangelized that town and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, to Iconium, and to Antioch,

if indeed you remain grounded and steadfast in the faith and are not shifted away from the hope of the gospel that you heard. This gospel has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and I, Paul, have become a servant of it.

“ Knowing their works and their thoughts, I have come to gather all nations and languages; they will come and see My glory.I will establish a sign among them, and I will send survivors from them to the nations— to Tarshish, Put, Lud( who are archers), Tubal, Javan, and the islands far away— who have not heard of My fame or seen My glory. And they will proclaim My glory among the nations.

“ This is My Servant; I strengthen Him, this is My Chosen One; I delight in Him. I have put My Spirit on Him; He will bring justice to the nations.He will not cry out or shout or make His voice heard in the streets.He will not break a bruised reed, and He will not put out a smoldering wick; He will faithfully bring justice.He will not grow weak or be discouraged until He has established justice on earth. The islands will wait for His instruction.”

May Yahweh bless you and protect you;may Yahweh make His face shine on you and be gracious to you;may Yahweh look with favor on you and give you peace.In this way they will pronounce My name over the Israelites, and I will bless them.”

“ Therefore,” He said to them,“ every student of Scripture instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who brings out of his storeroom what is new and what is old.”

Otherwise what will they do who are being baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, then why are people baptized for them?

Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit.There are different ministries, but the same Lord.And there are different activities, but the same God activates each gift in each person.

After she and her household were baptized, she urged us,“ If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.Once, as we were on our way to prayer, a slave girl met us who had a spirit of prediction. She made a large profit for her owners by fortune-telling.As she followed Paul and us she cried out,“ These men, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation, are the slaves of the Most High God.”And she did this for many days. But Paul was greatly aggravated and turning to the spirit, said,“ I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out right away.When her owners saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities.Bringing them before the chief magistrates, they said,“ These men are seriously disturbing our city. They are Jewsand are promoting customs that are not legal for us as Romans to adopt or practice.”Then the mob joined in the attack against them, and the chief magistrates stripped off their clothes and ordered them to be beaten with rods.After they had inflicted many blows on them, they threw them in jail, ordering the jailer to keep them securely guarded.Receiving such an order, he put them into the inner prison and secured their feet in the stocks.About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the jail were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains came loose.When the jailer woke up and saw the doors of the prison open, he drew his sword and was going to kill himself, since he thought the prisoners had escaped.But Paul called out in a loud voice,“ Don’t harm yourself, because all of us are here!”Then the jailer called for lights, rushed in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.Then he escorted them out and said,“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”So they said,“ Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved— you and your household.”Then they spoke the message of the Lord to him along with everyone in his house.He took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds. Right away he and all his family were baptized.

At once something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized.
