耶穌對她們說：「不要怕！去告訴我的弟兄們，要他們到加利利去。在那裡，他們將見到我。」

他們一進城，就到他們所住的樓上房間。在那裡有彼得、約翰、雅各、安得烈，腓力和多馬，巴多羅邁和馬太，亞勒腓的兒子雅各、激進派的西門、雅各的兒子猶大。這些人與一些婦女以及耶穌的母親瑪麗亞、耶穌的兄弟們一起，都同心合意地恆切禱告。就在那些日子裡，聚在一起的人約有一百二十名。彼得在弟兄中間站起來，說：「各位弟兄，那段經文是必須應驗的，就是聖靈藉著大衛的口所預言有關猶大的事。這猶大，領人抓了耶穌；他本來算是我們中間的一個，也在這服事的工作上領受了一份；後來，竟然用這個人不義的酬報買了一塊地。猶大一頭栽倒在那裡，肚腹迸裂，腸子都流出來了。所有住在耶路撒冷的人都知道了這件事，因此那塊地按著他們的本地語言被稱為「哈克達瑪」——這意思是「血田」。因為詩篇上記著：『願他的住所變為荒場，沒有人住在其中。』又說：『願別人得到他監督的職份。』「所以，這些人中必須有一個人和我們同做耶穌復活的見證人；這人是主耶穌在我們中間出入的所有時間裡——就是從約翰的洗禮開始，到耶穌被接升天離開我們的那天為止——一直與我們在一起的。」

這樣，我們就被看做是神的假見證人，因為我們見證了有關神的事，說神使基督復活了，如果死人真不會復活，神就沒有使基督復活；

耶穌對他們說：「我不是揀選了你們十二使徒嗎？可是你們當中有一個是魔鬼。」
